Weblin | We Make The Internet a Village

Richard | August 17, 2008

Weblin is a new way to interact in the world of web 2.0. After registration you create a small 2D avatar which travels with you as you surf the web. The avatars can look like real people, fantasy figures and much more and show up at the bottom of the browser’s screen, where you can start chatting and interacting with other visitors on the same page (if they have weblin).

The creators of weblin are based in Germany, however, the website and the controls are available in multiple languages – including chat room localization.
As weblin is still in beta, the service is only available to Windows users, but there is a weblin.lite version for the rest of us.

Yes, job listings and employment networks aren’t exactly new to the internet. However, who didn’t dream of working in Spain?! In latter case, Jobby.es is first aid to those who seek an upgrade in life. For those who always dreamed of working where the rest spends their two weeks of sun exposure and childhood horror.

DJ Software For The Rest Of Us.

Richard | May 27, 2008

The Pacemaker device hit the Sonar, a multimedial music fair in Barcelona, like a shooting star in 2007. Now in 2008, the handheld device which appears like a dj-iPod with extremely professional functionalities is finally available. The iTunes-like pendant and management software – The Pacemaker Editor – is available for free and enables its users to mix sets at an ease never experienced. Forget two channels. There is only one linear and visual sound channel which makes it very easy to set up mixes by drag & drop usability with automatic beat matching and many more effects. Looks good, sounds good, feels good.

The online pacemaker community brings to you a broad variety of mixes that can be listen to like a common internet radio. After a quick registration, the pacemaker software enables you to upload your mixes and handles all the hustles of encoding, trackmarking, etc. Definitely worth a try for those music lovers and djs out there.

Available for Windows and Mac.
